M. A. Bari, Managing Director of PTSL, is a Class-1 Maine Engineer (U.K.), who worked as Chief Engineer of foreign-going vessels at home and abroad for about 15 years. He is considered as hull and marine expert by most of the insurance companies in Bangladesh. He underwent an extensive training course on fire fighting during study in U.K. in 1976. Abdul Bari has been working as Professional Ship Surveyor since 1982 having license from DG Shipping, Dhaka. Abdul Bari was awarded prestigious Ashoka Fellowship from U.S.A. in 2006 for his outstanding contribution for the welfare of rickshaw pullers of Dhaka City since 1996. In order to help native engineers and students. Abdul Bari has written a text- book titled Internal Combustion Engines and Ancillary Equipment, which was published by Bangla Academy in 2000. The book has wide circulation among the degree engineers and other technical students in Bangladesh. Abdul Bari is a man of versatile talents. He is a well-known lyricist and music director, enlisted in BTV and Radio Bangladesh. His songs are regularly telecast in different TV channels by renowned singers of the country. He was the columnist of "Neel Chokh", published in the popular weekly JaiJai Din during 1993-96 .
